JB Construction & Restoration

JB Construction & Restoration is part of a family firm comprising a number of different individual businesses. Jones Brothers began trading in Cowbridge in 1939 as builders and undertakers. Following the post war building boom, they enjoyed 30 successful years of trade.

In the 1970’s with the advent of the DIY age, the business focus expanded into a builders’ merchants and DIY store. The company still operate from a large site on Eastgate in the thriving market town of Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan.

In 1987, a new generation of directors took over and diversified into associated footwear and safety clothing for the building industry. www.bootz.co.uk Since 1999, the construction operation has grown utilising specialist skills in lime construction and restoration methods, plus traditional lead fabrication.

Today the builder’s merchants operate from the back of the premises – easily accessed by the lane – selling a wide range of goods, including specialist sustainable products like hydraulic lime.
